The Queen Sofia Children’s Art Museum, one of the first Chilren’s Art Museums in the world.



On November 7th of 2002, Queen Sofia opened the Queen Sofia Children’s Art Museum, which bears her name, and of which she is Honorary President. In a ceremony attended by more than 600 guests, Queen Sofía unveiled a plaque commemorating the moment, and signed the Foundation’s book of honour after touring the exhibition in company of the president of the institution, Cris Gabarrón, Isabel Carswell, President of the World Association of Children’s Friends (AMADE), Rosa Gabarrón, the director of the Queen Sofia Children’s Art Museum, and Juan Vicente Herrera, the president of the Junta de Castilla y León.
